he Distance Learning Unit of the University of Nicosia took part in the I-HE2022: Innovating Higher Education Conference, themed Digital Reset: European Universities Transforming for a Changing World. The Conference was co-organized by the European Association of Distance Teaching Universities (EADTU) and the Hellenic Open University (HOU), and was held at the Athens War Museum from 19 to 21 October, 2022.
Experts from the world of online, blended and distance learning shared their expertise in new modes of (digital) education and explored opportunities for high quality, inclusive education in the face of a changing world, societal changes and crises.
The University of Nicosia was represented by the Rector, Prof Philippos Pouyioutas and the Head of the Distance Learning Unit, Ms Eleni Neocleous. The panel consisted of Rectors and Professors from several other European universities, as well as honorarable personalities from education-related areas, such as Prof. Ricardo Mairal Usón (Rector UNED, President EADTU), Ms Themis Christophidou (Director-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture, European Commission), Ms Niki Kerameus (Minister of Education of Greece) and many others.
I-HE2022 combined paper presentations, a research track, panel sessions and workshops.
The conference sessions covered among other the topics of online and distance education, student readiness and student support, diversity and inclusion in open and online education, quality assurance in blended and online education and digital courses in the 21st century skills.
