NIC launches the world’s first university course to be delivered exclusively on the blockchain and in the metaverse
More than 14,000 students have registered to attend the course, featuring the influential Punk6529 and 50+ guest lecturers.
The University of Nicosia (UNIC) announces the launch of its free, online course “Introduction to NFTs and the Metaverse”; the world’s first university course to be delivered exclusively on the blockchain and in the metaverse.
This course is only the University’s latest ground-breaking initiative in the context of its nearly ten-year long engagement in the field of Blockchain, which is marked with a series of international pioneering actions.
It will be taught over 12 weeks, starting on 3 October, 2022, and we are more than happy to share that it has already attracted more than 14,000 registrants.
The course will be delivered by Punk 6529 – a deeply influential thinker on NFTs and the metaverse and one of the largest NFT collectors in the world – alongside UNIC faculty, led by Professor George Giaglis. Joining them, will be an incredible array of guest panelists and lecturers, including:
- Fred Wilson, Co-Founder and Partner at Union Square Ventures
- Balaji Srinivasan, General Partner at a16z and former CTO at Coinbase
- Keith Grossman, President of TIME Magazine
- Chris Dixon, General Partner at Andreessen Horowitz
- Beeple, the highest selling artist in NFT history
- and many more artists, entrepreneurs, financiers and members of the NFT/metaverse ecosystem.

The course is free to attend, and those interested can register by minting the course NFT for free. Students who would like a certificate of completion from UNIC will pay a small fee, upon successful completion of the course, to receive an NFT certificate minted on the Ethereum blockchain.
