he Open University of Cyprus (OUC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the An-Najah National University (ANNU), the leading academic institution in Palestine, acknowledged by global-ranking institutions for its commitment to academic excellence. The MoU was signed on July 24, 2023 by Professor Petros Pashiardis, OUC Rector, and Professor Abdel Naser Zaid, ANNU Rector.
The MoU aims to encourage academic and research cooperation between the two Universities. The main areas of cooperation include the following: joint study programmes in English, joint online courses, student and staff exchange mobility opportunities, professional development of the members of the academic and administrative staff of the two Universities, joint research projects, transfer of knowledge, experience and technologies, etc. The two sides are enthusiastic about the opportunities presented by this partnership and look forward to a fruitful cooperation that will promote quality, extroversion and internationalization.
Professor Pashiardis notes that the collaboration of the Open University of Cyprus with the An-Najah National University is important because it allows for joint initiatives to strengthen higher education, but also for synergy in matters of research collaboration for the benefit of society and the economy.
